August 2012 Beauty Favorites!

1. One of my favorite things to work with during summer is bronzer (duh!) and my favorite one this month would have to be the Benefit Hoola Bronzer. To be honest, I got this during winter of last year and did not find it pleasant against my skin the first time around because  it was too dark for me. I didn't want to give up on it completely so i kept it and im so glad i did! This bronzer worked marvels on me this past month and i have to thank the sun for giving me a more sun-kissed glow. The great thing about this bronzer is that it doesn't come off as orange! heaven forbid i just have an orange streak on my cheek, how unflattering!

2. I am not much of a daily foundation kind of girl, if there is a special event happening then yes i will pop on some of my revlon photoready foundation but it hardly ever happens. For daily application I turn to my trusty Too Faced BB cream in the shade Creme Glow. I have to commend this bb cream on its decent coverage because I feel like it does wonders in evening out my skin since i suffer from a small amount of discoloration. However, this does give off a dewy finish which, i assume, would not work well on oily skin. But if you have normal to dry skin, i think this definitely hydrates the skin and trust me, i had to go through many bb creams before i found one that didn't dry me out. All in all, I would definitely repurchase this product!

3. My favorite brush of the month is Sigma F82 Round Top Kabuki which I just so happen to use when i apply my Too faced BB cream. Prior to using the F82 brush i was using the Real Techniques buffing brush which i love for my foundation application, but with the too faced bb cream it was coming off a bit streaky that i would have to blend it in with my hands afterward (im not a fan of using my hands to apply my base). So i started to use the F82 and i was so happy i found a use for it, at first i just purchased it on a whim and im so glad i did. It blends the product into my skin so seamlessly it looks like im wearing nothing! A+ for this brush!

4. I used all the colors in the the LORAC Croc Palette (unfortunately, i think its discontinued, so sorry!). I like that these colors give you a more dark look that you can still wear during the summer. The blush is lovely! i would wear it more during the fall more though.

5. I still dont know how i feel about the Mac Eye Kohl in Fascinating , all i know is that i cant help myself from reaching for it every time i put on makeup. Its a little bold which makes me want to try illamasqua's eye pencil in vow recommended by the lovely and talented Tanya Burr. the great thing about fascinating is that it goes on so smoothly which is key for makeup that goes on any part of my eye. Also, my eyes are already so small and this adds a nice "umph" to my eyes :).

6. Speaking of my eyes, my eyelashes have been enjoying the L'oreal Voluminous Mascara in Blackest Black. It stays true to its name, it gives so much volume! This one isint waterproof so i do not recoommend using this on your bottom lashes because it will smudge a little. Also, it doesnt dry out your lashes which is a plus, but for not being waterproof it is still quite difficult to take off with regular makeup remover so you will need eye makeup remover. The only thing i wish this mascara would do is give more length.

7. I love illuminating my under eye area, it automatically wakes me up and the tool i use is none other than the maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer in Ivory. Basically, it does what it says and i would definitely repurchase this!

8. For my brows i use the Too Faced Matte Eyeshadow Palette color in chinchilla. The great thing about this color is that it fills in my black brows and makes them look natural!

9. For a natural-my-lip-color-but-better I use Laura Mercier Stick gloss- Courtisane which is described as a mauve rose. It is such a lovely color and its not sticky like most lip glosses and the great thing is that it is so moisturizing! This makes it a great lip color to wear to school or work. I am almost done with mine and quickly need to repurchase it :).

10. When i was feeling rushed or lazy i would just put on some of my Burt's Bees lip balm with pomegranate oil. It enhances the red tones in my lip while being extremely moisturizing. I would definitely repurchase this!
